NexFit Protocol Privacy Policy
Innovations App Lab · Effective October 11, 2026
NexFit Protocol ("NexFit", "the app") is a fitness, nutrition and recovery tracker for iPhone. It is built to work offline, with no account. This policy explains what the app handles and where it goes.
The short version
- Your data stays on your device unless you turn on iCloud sync or use an online feature you choose.
- We don't run servers that collect your data, we don't have accounts, and we don't use analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs.
- We never sell your data or share it with advertisers or data brokers.
Data stored on your device
Workouts, sets, food logs, weight, body measurements, progress photos, check-ins, supplements and protocol logs, settings and goals are stored in the app on your device. Any widgets or watch features read a small summary through a container shared only with the app on your device.
Importing and sharing
If you import workout history from another app (for example a CSV file exported from Strong, Hevy or Fitbod), the file is read on your device and its contents are added to your NexFit log. Workout share images are created on your device and only leave it if you choose to share them through the iOS share sheet.
iCloud sync (optional)
If you turn on iCloud sync, your NexFit data is stored in your private iCloud database through Apple's CloudKit. Only your Apple ID can access it; we can't. Apple handles this data under the Apple Privacy Policy.
Apple Health
With your permission, NexFit reads health data such as heart rate variability, resting heart rate, sleep, steps, active energy, workouts, weight and body measurements to calculate readiness and training load, and writes the body weight you log so other health apps stay in sync. Health data is used only to provide the app's features. It is never used for advertising, never sold, and never sent to us. You can change access any time in Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices.
Camera and photos
The camera and photo library are used only when you choose to scan a food, a nutrition label, a barcode or a document, or add a progress photo. Nutrition labels and barcodes are read on your device. Progress photos stay in the app (and your iCloud, if sync is on).
Online features you choose
- Food database lookups. When you scan a barcode or search a food, the barcode or search text is sent to Open Food Facts or the USDA FoodData Central to fetch nutrition facts. No personal information is included.
- AI features with your own API key. Some features (food photo analysis, meal ideas, recovery briefs) can use an AI provider you pick: OpenAI, Anthropic or Google. These run only after you add your own API key and agree to the in-app consent screen, which lists what will be sent (for example a food photo or the numbers the feature needs). The request goes directly from your device to that provider and is handled under its privacy policy and your API account settings. Your API key is stored in the iOS Keychain on your device.
- Apple Intelligence. On supported devices, some features run with Apple's on-device models, including "Ask your log", which answers questions about your training from a summary of your log built on your iPhone. Nothing leaves your device.
Purchases
NexFit Elite subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We receive no payment details; the app only checks with Apple whether your subscription is active. You can manage or cancel it in your Apple Account settings.
Notifications, Siri and widgets
Reminders and rest-timer alerts are scheduled on your device. Siri and Shortcuts actions run on your device and use only the data needed to answer (for example, protein left today).
Support email
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include, and use it only to reply. We don't add you to mailing lists.
Children
NexFit is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. The protocol and supplement log is available only to users 18 and older.
Your choices
- Turn iCloud sync, Apple Health access, camera and photo access, notifications and AI features on or off at any time.
- Delete individual entries in the app, or delete all NexFit data by deleting the app (and its data in Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage, if sync was on).
- Because we don't hold your data on our servers, there is nothing for us to export or delete on our side. Data sent to an AI provider you chose can be managed in that provider's account.
Health information disclaimer
NexFit is a tracking tool, not medical advice. Talk to a qualified professional before changing your training, diet or supplements.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and note significant changes in the app's release notes.
